A widely believed myth says that all kinds of puja (prayers) should be performed only in the Ishaan or North-East (NE) zone of a house. But is this really true? 🤔 Let’s dive into what mahavastu & vastu shashtra ,the ancient Indian science of architecture, really says!
Myth Busted! 🚫
If you look at old palaces or homes built according to Vastu Shastra, you'll find something interesting. Puja altars were often placed in the West zone of the building. 🏰📜 Plus, in many temples, deities are placed in the West, facing East. 🌅
What Does Vastu Shastra Say? 📚
According to Vastu Shastra:
"Ishaanyam devtagriham" means that the devta (deity) resides in the North-East zone. However, it doesn’t say that puja must be done there. If the writer of Vishwakarma Prakash meant this, they would have clearly mentioned "pujagriham" (puja place) instead of "devtagriham" (deity place). 🧐
The True Meaning of 'Dev' 🌟
The word "dev" refers to any deity or spiritual guide you connect with during meditation. The North-East zone helps with clarity of thought and intuitive foresight, which benefits your life. So, while the deity should be placed in the NE zone, the actual rituals can be performed in nearby zones like NNE (North-North-East) and ENE (East-North-East). Mahavastu zones — NNE and ENE, because both of these zones support the processes of cleaning and strengthening of the Manomaya and Vigyanmaya Kosha
Different Directions for Different Deities 🧭
Each direction has different deities who govern various aspects of our lives. To worship a specific deity, puja should be done in the direction they govern. For example:
Lord Hanuman and Goddess Durga: Perform puja in the South (S) zone. 🛡️🔥
Other Deities: Place their altars in the zones that align with their attributes, based on the 16 MahaVastu zones. 🌌🔍
By understanding and following these guidelines, you can perform puja in the most beneficial direction according to Vastu Shastra! 🌈✨
Feel free to explore and find the best spot for your puja that aligns with your intentions and the deities you wish to worship. 🙏🏽🌟
